Pink Floyd es una banda inglesa formada en 1963 por Roger Waters (vocalista) , Bob Klose (Guitarra), Sid Barret (Guitarra y vocalista) eventualmente sustituido en 1968 por David Guilmour, Nick Mason (Percusiones) y Richard Wright (Teclados y vocalista) tuvieron gran éxito interpretando música sicodélica aunque de allí pasaron al Rock Progresivo y al Rock Sinfónico, fueron uno de los grupos de rock más importantes sobre todo en los años 70´s y 80´s, la banda ha vendido más de 250 millones de copias y acreedores a más de 30 discos de platino.

En general su discografía abunda en temas vanguardistas y algunas de sus piezas son experimentales, Sus álbumes más trascendentes fueron The Dark Side of the Moon y The Wall, ambos discos conceptuales y de un alto nivel.

The Wall es una obra conceptual de la cual también se filmó una película, en esta obra el protagonista “Pink” es un músico exitoso que a su vez está  reprimido por los traumas de su existencia,  las drogas junto con  el éxito le ayudan a construir un muro que lo mantiene en un mundo de fantasía autodestructiva que lo aísla de la realidad, “Another brick in the wall” parte II habla de la educación opresiva en Inglaterra durante los 40´s y es una de las piezas más interesantes y conocidas del Albúm
